Hannah joined the CREST team in 2016 in the role of Coastal Planner. Her primary responsibility is to establish both immediate and long-term plans for the Columbia River estuary region by collaborating with local government agencies in Washington and Oregon. In regards to environmental planning initiatives, Hannah believes that coordinating across multiple jurisdictions is the ideal way to work in the best interest of all stakeholders. She is excited to work with different communities and provide assistance in projects that they might not have the capacity to undertake on their own.
Before moving to the Pacific Northwest to work with CREST, Hannah worked in a variety of community programs in Iowa within the AmeriCorps VISTA program. She was also involved with the local food movement, coordinating a community garden and volunteering with local farms.
Hannah obtained her Master’s Degree in Community & Regional Planning, in addition to her Masters in Science in Sustainable Agriculture from Iowa State University. In her position at CREST she is excited to merge her passion for environmental and social issues with her experience in community planning.
Hannah is eager to get to know the character of the local area by spending outdoors running and hiking, as well as with the community. In her leisure time you might find her exploring local coffee shops, diving into good books, or getting creative in her kitchen or with her crochet needles.
